Going forward, I believe I'd be skeptical, after this experience, of bringing on
any new coach that ever appeared to have this "ideal job" out there. As I noted in another post, I don't believe I ever heard MP say that KY was a dream job of his. I think we all suspected and we were right, but I don't believe he would have ever stated as such. He was too brilliant of a mind to have done that.
I can handle a coach taking a job where their pay doubles and it's at a "blue-blood" institution. I understand. If that were to be offered to KS I'm sure he'd be gone. If it's your profession, then it would be hard to turn down such offers, but it does become evident that if such is suspected of a coach candidate (a dream to be at one of their former colleges), that we probably should look somewhere else. That wasn't fun at all.
