Duke or North Carolina hiring a guy with no noteworthy success?
It's not like a highly touted assistant at a major program either. Pope is now on to his third head coaching job and he'll be 52 at the start of next season. He's yet to hang a single regular season banner or play on Saturday/Sunday of the first weekend. He's not won a conference tournament in 9 seasons as head coach, with eight of those in the WAC and WCC.
Pope has been a head coach for 9 seasons. His head coaching tenure has produced the following:
Zero regular season Championship's
Zero Conference Tournament Championships
An 0-2 NCAA Tournament record
It's wild that any candidate with his profile landed a blue blood job.
