First fallacy: People hate Kalani. Nobody hates Kalani that I know of. Nobody
hated Tuiaki either, but that doesn't make him nor Sitake the right man for the job.

Second Fallacy: Sitake still to this day has a strength of schedule very similar to Bronco's. His schedules haven't been near as hard as you make them out to be.

You want to know why I don't think Kalani is a good HC for BYU? Here is why:

1. His results: Kalani has 4 seasons according to Sagarin worse than any season Bronco ever had. So 50% of his seasons are worse than the 11 seasons under Bronco. His good seasons? One was Covid against a horrible schedule. Then he had a good (not great) season the year after. The said thing is I think it could have been a great season but he didn't have the team ready to play a couple of times against lesser opponents. Other than that he has been horrible.

2. His recruiting: He is by far the worst HC recruiter at BYU in the last 50 years. The numbers speak for themselves. Then you see Jay Hill come in last year and absolutely clean up on the defensive side of the ball in recruiting and the big reason every one of them says on why they choose BYU is Jay Hill. Yet posters have said it the honor code or academic standards or whatever.

3. His favoritism. By about game 4 of year 2 for Detmer it was clear that Sitake was getting rid of him. Was that the right decision? Hard to say to be honest, but the offense was underperforming. Yet it took 7 years to get off his good buddy Tuiaki who inherited loads of NFL talent and underachieved year after year after year. Sitake has hired his buddies time and time again in every position. Some have been good hires, some have been horrible.

I could go on about his lack of innovation, lack of attention to detail, and lack of X's and O's. He simply isn't a good coach.
