Try it again, especially in the playoffs. Hockey may be the best sport to watch;
...there is constant movement, sophisticated strategies (that many viewers don't recognize); excellent teamwork / puck movement; very few commercial breaks; it's physical / fast / athletic; sacrificing the body on hits, fights, and blocked shots; and fans are relatively close to the action. In addition, teams / fan bases have unique cultures in a way that is only rivaled by soccer. As a bonus, it has the best championship trophy and related traditions in all of sport, IMO. — I've always been impressed with the interviews / character of the players, who seem more down to earth, approachable, and accountable than athletes in many other sports.

In short, if it doesn't move the needle for you, I recommend investing a little more time to give it another chance. Watch some more games, learn some of the intricacies, and see if you can find more enjoyment in it. (Having a new local team is a great thing to invest in preparing for; it can be a game changer as a fan.)

P.S. - Baseball is my favorite sport, and I also love watching baseball. Still, hockey - especially in the playoffs - is a much better viewing product.
