I was a Mark Pope fan when he was the coach at BYU. Now that he's the coach of another school I am mostly indifferent, except when he tries to steal BYU players. Then I actively don't like him and wish failure to rain on him like... well, rain. If he stays out of BYU's way, I'll root for him.

I'll refrain from childish barbs (e.g. "Mark Poop"), but I'm also not going to go out of my way to sing his praises. I had a lot of hope and faith in Mark Pope, but the reality is he didn't accomplish much (anything) here. I think BYU can and should reach much higher heights than what he gave us.

Oh, and the inconsistency of loving when a player transfers into BYU and hating when a player transfers out of BYU? That's called being a BYU fan.
