I take in history with an open mind and an expectation that the
human mind, and it’s related memory is flawed and can be very inaccurate. I think there can be exaggerations and inaccuracies, and acknowledge that sometimes there are those that flat out fabricate for gain. Excluding those cases of flat out fraud, these histories can still convey a very poignant and powerful experience. That’s also why I like reading the same events from different perspectives. I don’t really have to decide what’s wrong or accurate (although my human brain does still do it to a degree). It’s a fun journey learning about historical figures and events and find common threads or outliers from many perspectives.

I devoured NASA histories, biographies, and autobiographies and I definitely have different opinions of people like Yeager and Armstrong that differ from popular histories.
