Just because the college has money for the coach, doesn't mean they have the money for NIL. Can't use AD funds to pay players yet, so we have to hope that NIL is increased as well. I do highly doubt Smith and those with a vested interest in KY's success will want him to fail in this, so they may indeed step up more than they have in the past. I really hope that is the case because paying big money for a coach on its own is not enough. That used to work in the old days, but in the days of NIL, money is the primary language that a lot of these kids speak.
