Well there is Title IX. If basketball/football kept everything then you’d be
right.
Problem is most athletic departments run at deficits. They’re not self funded at all. College sports rely of donations unlike pro’s.
NCAA/schools aren’t paying the athletes, it’s also coming from donors. NCAA can’t pay the athletes because of Title IX.
