yes we all get that that is pay for play under the name of NIL. but since there
is no clear requirement that NIL has to be altruistically NIL, then the pay for play is also legal and ethical as long as its called NIL.
Also perhaps the numbers reduce a little overtime, but if the funds are there to pay head coaches $5 million a year of course there are funds available to pay an important player $300K per year.
