We go to college for our future financial security. They do not owe it to us to
pass on a better financial situation because we want them to play for our team. Graduating from BYU does not guarantee future success and happiness and graduating elsewhere does not guarantee future failure and unhappiness.

I love BYU and my degrees from there. But if I was offered the opportunity elswhere to get my degrees AND graduate with enough money to either outright buy my first home or pay for most of it, instead of the school debt I paid for 25 years, I would have been able to do almost any profession and support my family.

I hate how the NIL and transfer portal are wrecking college sports. But there's nothing unethical or immoral about any player doing what's best for his or her own future.
