One carve out I would like to see is for kids who love to play but have been cut from the team in a specific sport. If a kid wants to play basketball but lives in Corner Canyon's boundaries where it is very difficult to make the team, I would have no issue with granting that kid immediate eligibility to go play at Jordan HS, Alta HS, Riverton HS, or somewhere a coach is happy to have him on the team. I understand wanting to prevent recruiting. But a kid should be able to play at a new school if the coach at his current school attests that he simply didn't make the team.
