I understand they don’t want to make NIL a primary part of recruiting and they don’t want to pay in the millions for players. I think it’s a good choice. They also are trying to spread NIL money evenly across all on the team, I get that too, they don’t want ego issues in the locker room.

I just think you have to make some exceptions. This is still college football not professional but players are getting paid. A good quarterback ( high 3 or 4 star) is hard to land, they also have an incredibly hard job on and off the field. A good left tackle is the keystone to a good offensive line, they are hard to land. A big and mobile DT is also hard to land. You may even ask these players to play right away which is a lot of responsibility.

Some positions like the 3 above or for very special players you may have to pay a bit more to land or should I say pay more once you land them. It’s supply and demand and although I don’t like it, NIL is here to stay. Other players on the team have to understand that a few positions / players will make more in NIL and if they want the team to make a run at a conference title it has to be that way.

It’s just hard to fathom how you can be competitive year in and year out if you don’t make some exceptions.
