It’s rough. Herpes zoster attacks the nerves themselves. I have fought shingles
Off and on since I was 12 years old.
It might be too late for him, but L-Lysine is amazing to stop an outbreak and heal it more quickly. (L-Lysine is also amazing for cold sores… same virus family…and can stop an outbreak if applied before it ruptures.)
You can recommend it to him. If the virus is still causing issues but not enough to lead to eruption, it could help.
