Have your water tested. Generally all water has some level of hardness to it,
so then it becomes to what level you are okay with. There are guides online to help you interpret the data you receive from having your water tested.
Underground sourced water (wells, springs, etc) usually contain more minerals (source of hardness) than above ground sources (lakes, rivers).
