I just bought a 6 year old car with 42,000 miles on it for $17,000. The new
model is $50,000. That is a pretty big difference.
I still have my last similar car I bought 12 years ago for $8,000. That model would have cost $60,000 new in 2012. I averaged about $300 of maintenance per year on that car.
