boss. Head of a small company. Finds her to be an excellent manager and good friend. Just got back from dinner with that boss and all the top management from that company. They get together regularly, even though the company was bought out and dissolved months ago.
Of CXO staff I have worked closely with, most I found to be good friends and generally good managers. All have their weaknesses. The best leaders know their weaknesses and hire to surround themselves to protect their weaknesses. Some never figure this out or are too weak to admit weakness. Some surround themselves and occasionally get too enraptured with an idea to take advice. All treat others with respect and strive to help those around them succeed.
I only worked closely with 1, a CFO, that was quite evil. Seemed to relish causing pain. Went out of his way to cause pain and drama. Contrary to what a good CFO would do, was frivolous with the company’s money. Thankfully, I moved on after only a few months together. He, unsurprisingly, didn’t last long with that company. Well over 20 years later the company is still around, but is lost well over 50% of sales within a year of the CFO joining and continued losing sales for years, unsurprisingly with someone that bad involved.
One other that I worked with, kind of co-CEO, had no concept of the value of money. Thankfully, he was moved out of decision making within a few months.
Hope you and your wife find work and senior management you enjoy working with and respect and work with them long and successfully.
