It depends. We just did a week on Oahu and stayed at Aulani the whole time.
If I were to do it differently I would stay at the nicer resort the days I wanted to stay there (pool, beach, food etc) and somewhere else like Laie for the north shore days. I saw enough of Honolulu and Waikiki that I wouldn’t want to stay there - too busy for me

Dole plantation is not necessary imo. Like others said, Visit Honolulu and Waikiki, don't stay there.
