Only two paths to a championship for small market teams:
1. Get insanely lucky on non lottery picks in the draft (i.e. Giannis or the Joker)
2. Tank
You could argue that the Jazz had elements of Path #1 with Rudy and Donovan, but probably needed a tanking year or two somewhere in there to get a 3rd star.
