I don't think he's slow to learn at all. He was just slow to fire one of his best friends/family member.
He tried to give Tuiaki multiple ways to improve but Tuiaki was either too stubborn or slow to learn.

Try to keep in mind that BYU has been at a recruiting disadvantage compared to other P5 teams by being an Indy program.

IMO, most of that falls on Lamb & Tuiaki's recruiting. Fortunately, both are gone. Let's see what happens going forward.
