I have heard this idea alot lately, and I'm wondering how others think about it as well.

As I watch or read various documentaries, the idea seems to have a lot of merit.

As a country, We stopped participating in the cold war when we thought "We won", whereas the rest of the world just kept on fighting the Cold War, eventually leading to the instability of today.

Now, in many ways, we are trying to play catch up in many smaller skirmishes and/or medium battles in the larger Cold War.
