Bonds, Clemens, ARod: Obvious HOFers. Have probably paid their penance at this point. I am not a fan of
any of them. Hold your nose and put them in.
Schilling: Another obvious HOFer. Kept out due to toxic political views. Will undoubtedly be voted in by some
iteration of committees dealing with overlooked players. His fall from grace has been stunning. This
is a guy who was given the Clemente Award, the Branch Rickey Award, the Lou Gehrig Award, etc.
Rose, Shoeless Joe: I don't know how you can let guys in who bet on baseball. It is the red line. Would guess
that Rose might get in after he passes on.
Murphy, Mattingly: I am biased because Murphy is one of my all time favorites. But I would put them both in.
Dominant players at their peaks. Unfortunately both had short careers when it comes to
racking up traditional HOF career numbers.
Grace: I could make an argument for him but he is way down the list.
Jones: WAR creation. The fielding numbers seem really suspect. Without them he is just another good player.
Sheffield: See Bonds, etc.
Lou Whitaker seems to be a candidate that a lot of people put at or near the top of players deserving induction.
I think he was a good player but never considered one of the best players in baseball. Probably deserves to go in.
