Not saying it’s the cause all the time, but when state testing wraps up a week or so before the end of the school year, that becomes the mark to finish the curriculum by. I know some teachers will then use those extra weeks to hit fun topics or give projects, but for many it’s filler time. A lot of it has to do with exactly when the testing wraps up.
