I was already fully aware of what you have described. I remember covering women’s collegiate lacrosse games as part of my fellowship, and I was always remarking on how I had no idea what was going on or why the whistle was being blown.
My two boys have been playing for the last four years. I absolutely love boys lacrosse. It’s a blast. Now I have to transition and watch this completely different sport and get frustrated with all the stupid whistles.
Interestingly, as they are growing the international game, they are leaning more towards the rules in women’s lacrosse, with less equipment and more protection of players.
