After announcing on November 15th, the game had sold out, Kunzer-Murphy ordered the installation of an additional 4,100 seats for the game. Once available to the public, those tickets sold out in just five hours. "

BYU made its 5th straight appearance at the LV Bowl.
I went to all but 1.
After the LV bowl decided that they would not add more seats to accomodate the crowd, good tickets were harder to come by.
BYU also added a sur-charge onto the price of the tickets through BYU.
It became clear to all BYU fans that the cheapest way to buy tickets was not through BYU but through the stadium ticket office. I saved myself $50 bucks last year by not buying through BYU and got excellent tickets.
5 years in a row going to the same bowl game was wearing thin on BYU fans. Four years with a 43-9 record and having to face the 5th place team in the Pac 10 wasn't the best draw even though BYU fans showed up as more than 50% of the crowd.
The weather for this game was the worst you could imagine. If you want to read about it, then go ahead and surf the web for articles. Local BYU fans (and I don't blame them because I froze to death and at the age of 70 almost died) had no business going to that game.
If you say that BYU didn't sell their allotment to that game... so be it but I doubt they ever will again... at least in LV because you can get better seats otherwise. Plus 5 years in a row against Pac 10 also rans is getting old too!.
