They have nothing to gain playing an independent that late. If we were in the Big 12 on the other hand, it would be a different story. It would be Big 12 vs. PAC-12 in a sense, and both teams would have something in it for them by continuing the Holy War in November. I will concede that it was funny seeing Utah lose to a 2-8 team at home.
