Is Bronco an idiot?
It is amazing how old Cougarboard makes me feel sometimes. I remember when Whittingham stiffed us, and we selected Bronco as head coach, I posted, "why do I feel like we just got the second least ugly girl in the room to dance with" or something to that effect. And now, I spend half my posts (including half a day's data collection) defending Bronco from over-the-top, and unfair attacks. I think perspective is very valuable, and something too many people would benefit from (not to suggest that my "life experience" has made me better than you .

Having lived through the Ngata(will he?-won't he?, why are black helicopters with Nike on them circling his high school?)experience, followed by Ben Olson (nice career at UCLA) transferring, the Jake Heaps saga and Cougarboard reaction seems to be a familiar walk in the park. I am sort of happy that I really don't care that much. Clearly, Riley outplayed him this year, and demonstrated a much steeper improvement trajectory than Jake's over the past year. Also, it is clear who the team thought was the de facto leader, no matter who Bronco named as the de jure leaders of the team this year. Does that mean I hate Jake? Not at all. I wish the best of luck to him. It is my opinion that he would never start at BYU, even if he had stayed. Too much water under the bridge, and I think that the incoming quarterbacks better fit what our offense will be next year, and for the rest of Doman's tenure. Is it really wise to keep changing our offense to fit the quarterback, rather than establish a consistent system? I don't think so, even for someone of Heap's caliber. Maybe I have watched the Jazz for too long

Anyway, the one thing that I have learned from these past experiences is that no matter what the players do in the future, it is BYU that is stained by the actions and attitude of its fans. I hope everyone will desist with the posts that are derogatory to Jake. I hope he is very successful whereever he goes, and achieves everything he wants for himself. BYU will be fine, and I hope he will be as well.
