a consistent ability to dominate lesser competition and lay eggs against the good and great competition.
In all fairness to BM, he is comparable to Lavell in that regard. I think what makes Bronco come across as an under-achiever is what the UofU, TCU and BSU have done in recent years. Most of us fans think BYU is on par w/ those programs (TCU is really a step ahead of the four at this point) yet we have not enjoyed any of the BCS busting success of the other three.
While it may be unfair to BM to hold him to this standard, when the beloved Lavell never dealt w/ anything like it; I think Bronco could do more to elevate his team. That is why I am not 100% happy w/ him.
