...allowed Utah to win 3 conference games this year. If we were looking at a traditionally tough Pac 12 conference where they were likely to have 5-6 NCAA tourney teams and a number of others go to the NIT then this year's Utah team wouldn't have won a single conference game.

Any team that loses to Adams State, barely ekes out a win over San Diego Christian (my hometown DII team routinely crushes them), and follows that up with bad losses to Big Sky teams, UNC-Asheville, Fresno St and CS-Fullerton shouldn't be able to win a single conference game in a decent to good Pac12 conference.
