As much fun as it is for all of us to get on here and tear apart High School kids I know Parker Van Dykes uncle, a HUGE lifelong BYU fan by the way, so I called him to get some clarification.
1) Parker did have a lot of interest from BYU but took them off his list about 9 months ago.
2) Parker received an offer from Utah State during the spring of his Sophomore year. He also had offers from ASU, San Francisco, Utah and a pending offer from Stanford (they can not officially offer until after Jr year). He also drew serious interest from Colorado, WSU, Washington. Arizona and Cal as well as a dozen other schools but did not want to expand his choices once he had narrowed them down.
3)Parker has been playing on the same AAU team as Emery and Haws since he was 9 years old. They have traveled all over the country together. He continues to play as much as possible with Nick and they are very close friends and have great respect for each others game. They were the two sophomores(both starters) on the Salt Lake Metro Varsity team that won the Fab 48 in Vegas two summers ago. This spring over Easter Parker traveled with Nick, Mika, Talon Shumway and Dalton Nixon plus a few others to Las Vegas and had great success. There were many BYU fans present at this game and several of them commented on this very board.

Having seen him play in the High School state tournament this year I would have to agree that Nick is a better player but they are a lot closer then you might think... they are ABSOLUTLEY in the same class. Lastly with the amount of press and attention he received this high school season if you claim to follow in state recruting and say you have not heard of Parker...then you really don't follow in state recruiting. Of course I know that this won't stop many of you from continuting to criticize but if anyone is really interested in the truth at least it's out there
