Larry Scott is the smartest commissioner out there and the PAC 12 is in great hands with him. With their upcoming network they are going to have 6 regional networks and one national network. Similar model to Fox Sports which kept them in business against ESPN. He isn't following the Big 10 model with one network because the PAC is very much regional and has a hard time getting interest on the East coast due to the time zones. Plus football isn't nearly as big in the PAC 12 compared to the Big 10. A couple years ago I remember watching Arizona play ASU in Tempe and the upper deck was empty....a rivalry game. You don't see that in the Big 10. However the PAC 12 does have great olympic sports for what it's worth
So Larry Scott recognizes he has regional appeal with some national appeal thanks to USC. The regional networks will feed into the national network like Fox Sports. Good move to not try and mirror the Big 10 exactly and instead tailor things to his audience.
