He has a reputation as the biggest hunter and gun nut in the neighborhood. He keeps his guns locked in a safe and that safe is kept in a locked room. He did this my entire life and continues to do it even though he has not had a kid living at home in years. He always says he could never forgive himself if something were to happen. Guns are part of the culture I grew up with and I hope we never lose the right to own them but I really dont understand the cost/benefit thinking that goes into keeping a gun essentially at the ready.
