yes he could strike batters out but he walked 105 in 158 innings so his ERA was 4.48 and his WHIP was 1.50. 1958 was the first year he made it to the starting rotation. You recall, we wondered if he would ever find his control.

In 1961 he got pretty good; in 1962 he became very good; in 1963, he became an all time great but he endured only a few more years due to poor health.
