I think this is true. But when you've been somewhere 10 years it gets harder

to move on. Especially for LDS people moving from family and culture of Utah. My wife was initially supportive of coaching HS football and now having experienced it loathes it. Practice, lifting, film, Conditioning, Friday nights multiply the time commitment and now having to move every couple of years, I don't blame anyone that steps away.
