use ceiling fans in conjunction
with my thermostat being set to 80 during the day. Feel totally fine. At night I let it creep up a few degrees, it stays cold enough we don't wake up from being uncomfortable.
Specs are:
3100 square ft, 2 stories, south facing, 14 year old home. No in-ground pool. AC units were both 12 seer up until last week when one bit the dust and we replaced it with a 17 seer.
