We’ve accepted quite a few 2-1s. Real P5 schools get H-H deals with other P5 schools. They get insane amounts of money and TV payouts. They get better access to the NY6 bowls and better odds at making the playoffs. They have tie-ins to other top tier bowls.

None of these things describe BYU.

We are not G5. But we are definitely not P5. Teams or conferences may elect to view us as an exception on th P5 scheduling rule. But when they offer us a 2-1 or H-H-N that basically shows us what they really think of us.
