It's not like there is a large pool of top tier LDS coaches to choose from and those who are I don't think BYU is a top destination, throwing big time money to lure someone isn't a guarantee. There's other factors at play that make coaching at BYU a challenge:

1. Honor Code and recruiting athletes that fit the BYU profile
2. P5 vs non P5- Top tier coaches LDS or non will want to go to a P5 school
3. Other burdens coaching at BYU- Church school, politics and everything that comes into play Bronco alluded to this in his interview.

We're running our program on a G5 budget while also trying to appear like we're on par with the P5's while doing it with talent that is also closer to G5.
