but that he's a Polynesian's Polynesian. That is, he's got the right persona going for him--to enter their households & make himself at home very easily & quickly. Right ethnicity plays a part, no doubt--but what makes Kalani a winner on this front ISN'T primarily his race.
Fact of the matter is McBride did it very effectively too--without the ethnicity factor in his favor at all, obviously. Chow & Anae -- not so much so.
