What's the proper way to shame someone?

I hate it when people leave carts in parking spots, but my going out of my way to shame someone would put me in a bad mood for a while. I'd recommend just going out of your way and taking that cart to the return. If they see you do it, they might realize they are a turd, and either way, you did a good deed and are then in a good mood.
