I see the B1G getting 3-4 NY6/CFP teams with with 9-10 bowl eligible teams and the redbox bowl picking 6th out of non NY6 bowl games so that's a pretty decent shot at the best option. Really depends on how Iowa and Wisconsin finish.
AFB will almost certainly have an open slot, maybe two. Big 12 will have 6-7 bowl eligible teams, 2-3 of which will play in NY6/CFP the and the AFB picks 6th out of non NY6 bowls.
LVB is less likely because I don't see the PAC getting more than one team in a NY6 bowl and they'll have 7-8 eligible teams.
Texas bowl could work out too. The SEC will have 9-10 bowl eligible teams (Ole Miss has a ban) and the Texas bowl gets between the 2-7 SEC team not in the CFP/NY6 and there could be as many as 5 SEC teams there.
I think it's 50/50 BYU ends up with a decent bowl (one of those above) or in a terrible bowl against a CUSA, MWC, or MAC team.
