You're right, I meant Chaing Mhai, not Ubud.
We took a separate trip to Bali which is where Ubud is, but everything I said about inland is true. Definitely go to Chang Mhai. If I had to pick between Phuket and Ko Phi Phi I'd choose Kho Phi Phi, it was like nowhere else on earth.
