Imagine being the wife, wondering if you need to pack up the house or not

based on those couple of bounces of the ball. Think of the kids wondering if they finish high school watching those ball bounces. The anxiety has to be through the roof.

Granted, they get paid. That's nice. But it still would be very stressful on a family.
