Until the official "How to be a parent" manual comes out, I don't mind advice.
I have a daughter that is less than 2 months away from being 12, and she freaks out way too much. She was homeschooled previously due to undiagnosed issues that are now diagnosed, and this being her first year in middle school, she is periodically asking my wife to pull her out due to social issues, and to go back to home schooling. So far, we've successfully avoided that, due to having received the same advice that dchandle and soupie have been providing in this thread.
