You are constantly moving and interacting with multiple different people and touching handrails, doors, seats etc. I think it is worse than a large stadium because at a stadium you are only near about 15 people and that stays pretty constant except entering and existing. Public transportation is a constant movement of people coming and going and switching trains, buses etc. and people do that on a daily basis.
