Maybe that's what you mean when you say social distancing. However, we don't know how much each piece (e.g., shutting down schools, increased hand washing, wearing masks, standing 6 feet apart in stores, not seeing other people, people reporting their neighbors for taking walks, etc...) contributes to the reduction.
I actually see that as a problem with regards to starting things back up. No one wants to loosen the wrong thing in case it was an unexpectedly important part of slowing things down.
