I've had this convo with a lot of people recently. IMO, if the number of saved
lives is in the hundreds of thousands, or higher, then this was worth it. The economic hit is going to be massive, and wouldn't be worth it for, say, 100,000 lives saved. But if the number is like, 400,000 or more, then that seems worth it.
