I was in Portugal for a couple of years and saw clips of it while I was there.
That was back in 1990 and 1991. I barely missed 1989. The Portuguese entry from '89 was very popular in Portugal. DaVinci seemed to be everywhere.
I saw bits of it on TV in 1990 and it looked to me like a musicians trying to act like Americans and failing.
