I would think if you are looking at that $1500 range, you are looking at some vortex razor, maybe Kowa if you can find it on a deal or ebay.

I have the cabelas krotos 15-45x65 and my brother has the larger objective. I really like the smaller one, its compact and does the trick. If you go with a larger objective lens you need a good tripod to hold it steady if you are trying to count points and judge at long yardage.
