I think what shackles the LB's more is game planning
especially against RPO teams. Tuiaki does not like to crowd receivers much and the linebackers slow play RPO heavy schemes be design and play much faster against downhill running teams.

LBer keys are generally either a triangle read through the linemen, or cross key the QB/RB. Coastal Carolina is a perfect example of how he overthought it. CC is a power run team, that incorporates heavy RPO when teams crowded the box. In that game BYU never took away the first option and CC kept their game plan simple and ran over us because the LBers were slow to fill because they wanted to take away the RPO. With 2 days to prepare for a game, I would have schemed to shut down the run and made McCall beat us with his arm and played more press outside.

I think this just goes with Tuiaki's general mindset, he is not an aggressive DC.
