I believe they will continue to give up long drives in hopes that the opponent will eventually make a mistake (such as a holding penalty) and fail to convert. The defense will rarely make negative plays or force turnovers. They will shorten the game thereby making their own stats look good by some metrics but will keep the ball away from our offensive and allow lesser opponents to stay in the game (see CCU, UTSA, or SDSU from last year).
