It’s because of LGBT stance, specifically not being supportive of same-sex

Marriage.

That’s it. There is no way to shake this.

Our “politics” and stances on issues that are acceptable and applauded in academia nationwide are what make us “high maintenance”.

This is also why we will never be invited to any P5 conference including the Big12.

I’m sorry if people choose not to believe this but it is 100% true.
